Hurricane completed!
The final product from the crit today! It ended up working reallllly well with the song and a bit of movement!! Haha...I have no idea what to do with it now...it's not exactly the most practicle/convenient piece of art...hm. Well I'm excited to experiment with this gold ink I got this weekend! haha, it smells really.....interesting...

A strange image of my strange mobile! I'll try to post better pics when I finish it...but this is what I have so far! It's supposed to be inspired by a song.. so I chose "Hurricane" by Tapping the Vein, cause spirals are cool? hehe...it makes nice chiming noises....

Gah, I hate not having any time to draw! I started this daaays ago in Geology, finished drawing during class tonight, and colored a little just now to make it a little less boring. No idea what it's supposed to be....daydreaming..just dreaming? Who knows. Just remember to wear comfortable shoes when traveling paths unknown!! Domenic wants me to re-do the drapery homework -__-Ok, I need sleep..

The first one is from Lacma! There was a neat fashion exhibit going on....realllly funky contemporary stuff (like tabi boots..haha) but I'm a totall sucker for the old-fashioned dresses...And then another self portrait..maybe for my portfolio? haha, my roomies bf was like, "so...that's you if you were black?" I guess it got a bit dark.... I finally drew my Empress tarot card yesterday! But I'll wait til I finish my Emperor so I can post them together! weee..

I messed up on my bf's face...so I drew him a funky gas mask instead. hm, kind of apocalyptic, yum toxic tea!

LACMA was cool, the Magritte exhibit wasn't up yet, but I got to see a few of his paintings in the modern section!

Now I have to write my two paper on the sculptures I analysed....yaaay!

Homework assignment for life drawing...drapery and tone! This took foreveeer to get in the right mindset to do...I think I re-arranged my drapery about a million times, and started 3 different drawings before getting so absolutely fed up I just stuck with this one! heh...after all that melodrama, it came out pretty nice! Then my roomie posed for me!! I had a really hard time getting her coloring right...but I am pretty pleased with it. hehe...we went to a random Numerology lecture today! It was quite interesting...my birthpath number is 49/4. Ahhh..I have so many books I want to read right now!!!! Time for bed, Lacma tomorrow!

These are hard times for dreamers.
Here are my first two sketchbook pages! It was kind of a work in progress from the whole week (very rare for me to work on something so long..but I haven't have much time for drawing lately..) The first one was inspired by a lovely book, The Hanged Man, by Fracesca Lia Block...and the other page was done in art history! It is a statue of Venus from Knidos, in Ancient Greece. yeah! But today was totally awesome...I made french toast for the first time (and it was delicous!!), hung around the house all day, and then ran around with my roomie (got caught in the rain and lightning---sooo awesome) Then we had a martini/cheese and cracker/sugar cookie feast whilst watching Amelie!!!!! That totally made my day.....but tomorrow I need to work on my projects...le sigh!

this week's life drawings!

Let's see...the first one is from Tuesday. Domenic drew on it a bit..in the shoulder/back area to define the muscles/planes! Then today we started using tone! weee..and the fire alarm went off so we all had to chill outside for a while...very exciting. Maybe I'll post some more drawings from my cool new sketcbook later...but I need to finish them first!!

I was going to make some more color pieces for my portfolio today..but all my potential models were either asleep or studying....so I did an icky self-portrait. My eyes look so messed up!! ahhh...I look high. Oh well, hopefully I can do some more this weekend....

New sketchbook!! (but i'm not done with my old one yet..ahh!)
Yeah. I was in the art store buying wire for 3-D, and I picked up a spiffy brown recycled paper sketchbook thing so I wouldn't be accused of being boring or anything. hehe. But I really like it so far...I couldn't wait to get home and do some oil pastels! So that is it. My first page is still being worked on...we shall see how that goes!

hmm..interesting weekend indeed. Blind contours from Knotts--people waiting in line to get chicken, skull counting with my cousin, and the back of my mom's head in the car! Aaand then my inky drawing from Starbucks tonight! It was hard to tell whether these girls were actually studying.....meh, time for bed! (hopefully the legless ghost will not come tonight...ugh)

Ah, what a lovely day off! Discovered a cool vintage/thrift shop, as well as a used music store!Spent the evening *gasp* watching the teevee...and drawing (no surprise there) And...this is what I drew! (done with stylus). Taking a short break from mythology. I need to stop imposing stories on the viewers..it really should be the other way around. Hm, I should've finished the sky...but I am tired. Oh, and pardon my crappy looking sword! (and the grass is covering a portion of her legs..so um..she is not floating or really short......haha)

The Bloody Chamber.
Inspired by the Tale of Bluebeard. Done is class yesterday and today..kind of unfinished, but I think I like it that way. and I don't want to draw anymore lines. haha.

Ugggghh. Such a long day.................I need to rest.

Tarot Cards.
I did these a few days ago. Not sure if I want to add color yet...but I've always wanted to illustrate a Tarot deck! I kept most of the traditional symbolism for The Priestess, but I kind of took some artistic/interpretational liberties with the Magician..hehe...but the gesture and meaning are still there..only 76 more cards to go!!!!!!!

so...my covert op was a success!! Well one guy came in to use his locker near mine, but he was cool, and even asked me to do his! I definately need to switch over to cardboard...my kinda thickish paper was getting soggy after I did three of them. My test run on the inside of my locker came out the clearest. haha.


I wanna make another now! maybe I'll spray over the one I did one my locker....since it's kind of fuzzy looking...I don't know!!

I'm just very excited about finally personalizing my locker! (you guys wanna contribute any artwork??)

I could not focus on homework tonight!! One minute I was trying to read, and then suddenly I was making egg salad and jewelry!! wtf?? Anyway, that is the necklace I made (wire wrapped and beaded..a business associate of mine made the fused glass piece) It's a bit busier and more colorful than my usual pieces, but oh well..I had to tie in the colors in the glass. And then another ink sketch! I really like ink right now...and strangely, I like it even better with a little touch of color!!

Oh! We watched a video on a cool artist, Andy Goldsworthy, today in 3-D. He works in/with nature..and makes such beautiful impermanent things out of icicles or twigs or stones!! I want to try some environmental art out now...hmm...

Gaaah. I just really needed to draw something after all that sanding and cutting and glueing!! Quicky thing done with pen and ink, and a bit of watercolor! Hopefully I will have my stencil thing to post later in the week..gotta plan my covert operation...bum bum bum!

3-D Wood Project!

yeah.....it's pretty crappy. I just hope it doesn't fall apart before I turn it in!! I think it's missing something though...maybe another level somewhere?

Eh, but it feels wonderful to have it (mostly) done!!! Now I can read, relax, and SLEEP!!!
